The participants were welcomed by Mrs Ana Tecilazi\u0107 Gor\u0161i\u0107, Head of Sector for Quality of Higher Education, International Cooperation and European Affairs from the Ministry of Science and Education, who expressed her satisfaction that the kick-off conference of the Educa-T project took place at the Ministry.<\/p>\n
On the first day of the conference, 22 September 2016, Professor Barica Marenti\u010d Po\u017earnik, PhD, from the University of Ljubljana delivered a keynote speech \u201cDeveloping teaching competences of academic staff \u2013 experiences, dilemmas, challenges\u201d. Professor Vladimir Mr\u0161a, PhD, from the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, held the presentation “Supporting teachers in the higher education system in the context of the Strategy for Education, Science and Technology\u201c. Professor Ulrich Teichler, PhD, from the University of Kassel gave a presentation on teaching concepts and activities of university professors in Europe. Mrs Ivana Rami\u0107 from the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports provided information on the Educa-T project. Mrs Sandra Bezjak and Mrs Mina \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107 from the Agency for Science and Higher Education presented the ASHE activities as support to improving teaching competences at HEIs. Mr Marko Turk, PhD, from the Department of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka, held the presentation \u201cAcademic teaching in Croatia: challenges and perspectives\u201d and Mrs Chiara Patricolo, European Students’ Union (ESU) gave a presentation on student-centered learning, good practices and challenges to face.<\/p>\n
