The purpose of the seminar was to provide participants with both foreign and national experiences in the recognition of prior learning in higher education and e-learning, as well as in the use of digital technologies in higher education.<\/p>\n
The seminar brought together more than sixty (60) participants, including representatives of higher education institutions in Croatia, foreign speakers, representatives of agencies and institutes, as well as representatives of the Ministry.<\/p>\n
The participants were welcomed by Mrs Ana Tecilazi\u0107 Gor\u0161i\u0107, Head of Sector for Quality of Higher Education, International Cooperation and European Affairs from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia. In her speech, Mrs Gor\u0161i\u0107 wished a productive and successful exchange of foreign and national experiences in the recognition of prior learning in higher education, e-learning and in the use of digital technologies in higher education.<\/p>\n
Topics of the first day included: institutional examples of developing recognition of prior learning, challenges in academic teaching, a changed role of higher education teachers, the upcoming project activities, an analysis of existing practice and experiences in the quality of teaching and continuing professional development of teachers.<\/p>\n
The following presentations were held: “An Irish perspective on RPL in Higher Education”<\/em>, Mrs Deirdre Goggin, Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland; “RPL implementation in Estonian Higher Education”<\/em>, Mrs Marin Johnson, University of Tallin, Estonia; “Transforming higher education: how we teach in the digital age”<\/em>, Mrs Sandra Ku\u010dina Softi\u0107, University Computing Center, University of Zagreb; “Defining competence framework for teachers in higher education”<\/em>, Mrs Vlasta Vizek Vidovi\u0107, Institute for Social Research in Zagreb; “Project: Emphasis od Developing and Upgrading of Competences for Academic Teaching (Educa-T)”<\/em>, Mrs Marina Crn\u010di\u0107 Sokol, Head of the Department for Strategy and Development of Higher Education, Ministry of Science and Education, Croatia; “Analysis of existing practices and experiences in quality teaching and continuing professional development of academic teachers”<\/em>, Mr Tomislav Bakovi\u0107, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb.<\/p>\n Topics of the second day were related to e-learning: risks, opportunities and recognition of prior learning and e-learning, as well as opportunities for institutional development.
